  Canada has advanced area-based conservation through updated national targets, Indigenous-led stewardship, and expanded partnerships across federal, provincial, and territorial agencies. Recent progress includes strengthened governance frameworks and coordinated efforts to increase terrestrial and marine protected and conserved areas toward achieving Target 3.
