• Colombia – Expanding the National System of Protected Areas and Strengthening Inclusive Conservation Governance

  Between 2014 and 2024, Colombia quadrupled its protected areas to over 50 million hectares. This expansion leads the region in marine and terrestrial conservation, driven by inclusive governance and collaboration with Indigenous and local communities.
